What is a ‘Community Asset Transfer’ (CAT)?

A Community Asset Transfer lets local people take ownership of land that would otherwise be sold off for private development. Instead of losing this land forever, we can turn it into a beautiful, usable, long‑term community space - designed by the people who live here.

We want residents to help decide what should be built, what should be protected, and what matters most to you so please follw thi link below and complete our survey!

Why is it important that the land belongs to the community?

  • Keeps land in community hands forever

  • Stops unwanted commercial development

  • Allows local people to shape what the land becomes

  • Brings long‑term local benefit to the area - not profit for developers
